“Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of                                                  learning but also of succeeding.” – Robert John Meehan

                                                                                                   Meet Our Principal

I have been in early education for over twenty years.  I received my bachelors in Child Development from Cal State Northridge and my Masters in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College.  I started off my career working for the Jewish Community center, where I spent eight years in various capacities.  I worked with parents in a Mommy and me program, created a summer program for children going to Kindergarten and was a Prekindergarten Teacher.

I joined the Los Angeles Unified School District in 1996, as a State Preschool Teacher working at Lassen Elementary School.  During this period, I became a Mentor Teacher with Los Angeles Mission College.  In 2002, I became a Teacher Advisor, where I worked under the direction of the Director of Instruction for Early Childhood Education.  I supported teachers in the field, created professional development, helped schools and centers open new early education programs, and supported programs with quality reviews from Los Angeles Universal Preschool and the California Department of Education.

In 2006, I became a Site Supervisor at Pinewood Early Education.  Pinewood EEC has 116 children, plus ten special education students as part of a collaborative program.   In 2007, I became a Principal for both Pinewood EEC and Broadous EEC.  During my tenure each school has participated in the STEPS to Excellence Project, a quality review from Los Angeles County, and various LAUP reviews.  I have a total of three Mentor Teachers working at my two centers.

Currently, I am an Adjunct Faculty Member at Los Angeles Mission College and on their Mentor Selection Committee.  I live with my husband and two children in the San Fernando Valley.
